Fashion Uncovered - Lidykai Designs

I have often wondered whether people realise that fashion lovers of all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life visit the marvellous community of markets across Australia. The amazing thing about the colourful markets community is that lovers of markets include both the well heeled, mink and manure set mincing through the stalls, as well as the struggling single mums browsing stalls to find a bargain, and everyone in between. The markets are a real melting pot were everyone is welcomed with open arms.

I reckon one of the reasons for this diverse mix of visitors who love markets is that the markets provide a hunting ground for those special and unique fashion items you just won't find elsewhere. I often see one of a kind designers bringing their fab creations to market. 

I can tell you that many a new designer and fashion brand explode onto the scene all the time. What is truly awesome is that they often start out at a market with a stall, only to grow in popularity and turn into an iconic fashion brand. Many of these great designers retain their markets stand and deliver beautiful well made quality unique designs to a passionately loyal following.

So whats the next big thing I ask?

Well Why not Lidykai Designs Australia?

Lidykai is a designer who turns out women’s fashion “with a difference”. Sure that is a cliché but the clothing is exactly that – different! 

Lidykai designer Kirstie Francis has only been designing women’s fashion for a short while but she has certainly made an impression with her range, catching the eye of both locals and tourists.

When asked to describe her style, Kirstie was quick to reply “it’s a fusion of fun, colour and the sixties.  I want women to have fun with clothing and not be scared of colour." 

And with the bold use of both bright and earthy colour schemes, lots of lines and shapes and diverse textiles, I think her reply is spot on. Influenced by all walks of life, the clothing has splashes of Europe, hints of Asia and touches of South America throughout the range. 

Lidykai Designs Australia originated in 2010 at the Fremantle Markets on a casual basis as Kirstie developed new designs and expanded her range. “The Fremantle Markets was a great way to take on board comments and feedback and to design new items with this in mind."

 Lidykai Designs is getting its name out there and feedback has been flowing in from around the world.
